Setup Network Printer Query

Good day!

I would like to ask for some helpful direction or a link on how to share my local printer in a local network.

Im working on an HP Deskjet 3744 with the latest release of Mandriva, the 2008 Spring Mandriva One. My printer was already setup to work on my local machine. i can print using my printer. but how can i share my printer with my other housemates? they are also using the same version of mandriva as mine. (Thanks mandriva!!!)

i already tried localhost:631 and ConfigureYourComputer->Hardware->Printers for several days but i cant just set it up. Mad

Are there any windows clients in the house? If so sharing via samba would be best. If not, cups should be making it available. Your problem is you probably haven't touched the firewall.

Default now is to block all incoming traffic. If you go to the firewall wizard in the Mandriva control center you'll see all the boxes are grayed, nothing is checked. I'd check "no firewall" to begin with, set up the remote printers on the other clients, then reset the firewall to allow the printer.
