Does anybody know if there is a current port of 2008.0 or .1 for the ppc? And if not, what was the most recent port?

No.

The last actually released version was ancient - 10.2 or something. Cooker has been somewhat haphazardly updated since then, but in all honesty, I wouldn't run MDV on PPC these days, it'd likely be broken all over the place. Use a distro with more active PPC support.

I knew it was a long shot, but hey, whatever, the old G3's can remain bits of furniture.

I've recently had great success installing another distro on a G4 iMac. Sorry to mention the name in this forum, but it's Debian Testing. None of the other distros I tried (Kubuntu, OpenSuse) would even boot. Now, if you're used to the nice freindly Mandriva environment, you're going to have a shock with Debian - you'll need to get used to the command line... but it does the job I wanted it for - I use it with a USB TV stick to watch TV in the kitchen Smile Don't expect fantastic software support for PPC though, there's no Flash player, no RealPlayer so all that lovely internet streaming stuff is right out.
