still crashes after that...anyway, got to mention I installed phonon-xine yesterday to get pulse working, as it doesn't work with Gstreamer, so may be it's that. Switching back the backend to gstreamer and disabling pulse doesn't change anything, so I'll try uninstalling xine. Also, when xine is enabled, I have all sounds muted when logging in, have to unmute manually, so I'd better go back to gstreamer. Could also be an update of amarok causing the crash. i'll check first with the back end...and reboot.
I have phonon-xine and gstreamer both installed - still come in to sound being muted. I then go to turn it up, and it will stay up but only for the time I'm playing whatever, then it instantly mutes again. Thought I told you about that issue?
no I didn't know you had this muting issue as well...anyway, after uninstalling xine, first had no sound with gstreamer, pulse or no pulse, and unmuted channel, but the sound came back after a reboot. Mplayer is complaining about a missing codec (faad)...lol, it's installed; doesn't prevent the video from starting, with sound.
Anyway, time to report the amarok crash I think:

amarok's still a no go. Not surprising there was no update...could have been something else related to the sound issues, but the sound issues are mostly solved now anyway. Got to play MP3s with Mplayer
