scanner's not working

Hi there,
I have an Epson Perfection 2480 PHOTO scanner that used to work very well in Mandriva 2006 and older Mandrake versions.
Since I upgraded to Mandriva 2007 and 2008 it isn't working anymore.
sane-find-scanner command gives the following output:

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x0121 [EPSON Scanner]) at libusb:005:005

But neither scanimage -L nor Xsane are able to find the scanner.

Can anyone help me with this, please.

I have the same problem with the same scanner. - Withe gimp, xsame gimp, it's the same problem.

I couldn't get my HP all-in-one to scan, until I searched for libsane-hpaio in the Mandriva control centre & installed it. It also found software called libsane1-devel. I'm not sure if it's needed but if it is then install it. Xsane in the graphics section is needed though.

When I bought 2480 photo I had mdk10.1 installed. If I remember correctly scanner was recognized but any scanning attempt was locking up my computer. Since then every time, after new mdv installation I'm downloading Epson drivers for it.

Scanner is working with mdv2008.
